e-Fuse Protector to Your Circuit

What is eFuse?

Check the datasheet of TPS25921LDR

  • The chip is an inexpensive great method to protect your electronic product
  • It is capable of following
    • 4.5 V – 18 V Operating Voltage, 20 V (Max)
    • 90 mΩ RDS(ON) (Typical)
    • 0.4 A to 1.6 A Adjustable Current Limit
    • ±3% Overvoltage, Undervoltage Threshold
    • ±2% Accurate I limit at 1A at 25°C
    • Fault Output for Thermal Shutdown, UVLO, and OVP
    • 40°C to 125°C Junction Temperature Range
  • Shall be used in many applications
    • Smart Load Switch
    • USB Switch
    • White Goods, Appliances
    • Adapter Power Devices
  • Few resistor and capacitor will do the job

  • Overvoltage Protection - voltage limit can be set
  • Under-voltage Protection - voltage limit can be set
  • Overcurrent Protection - current limit can be set
  • Inbuild temperature sensor to switch off the chip itself during an overcurrent condition

How to use Altium IPC Compliant Wizard to Create Components

 Altium IPC Compliant Wizard

Let's create a component library for STM32L432KBU6

Create schematic as usual

Create a new schematic library

Manufactuer part serach STM32L432KBU6

import to our new schematic lib

Copy symbol pin names from the datasheet

Pin 200mil
Hide comment

Create a new PCB library

Goto created public and open IPC footprint wizard

Select QFN

Take dimensions from the datasheet

Take dimensions from the datasheet

Keep default dimensions for the rest of the windows

silkscreen depend on manufacturing capabilities

here you can change the mechanical layers for the PCB house

mechanical 1 - 3d body
mechanical 29 - assembly layer, designators

Created footprint

Add footprint to the schematic symbol

Now you have created a component using IPC compliant Wizard and can be used in schematic deign PCB design
